Preflight and data conversion

If you do not have confidence in the quality of documents you receive from your customers, you can easily and quickly check it, protecting yourself from numerous mistakes such as missing embedded fonts, the use of improper color spaces or low resolution images. What is more, the files may be reviewed and then digitally signed. Thanks to the system’s ability to certify documents, You, as well as Your customer, can become certain that the documents prepared are correct and not modified in any way. The opportunities that PuzzleFlow creates do not confine the system to processing of PDF files only. The system can receive PostScript documents and bitmaps. Both PDF and PDF/X formats, being in accordance with ISO standards, are what we consider the output formats of choice.

This engine supports JDF jobtickets refering to PostScript documents, preserves OPI links and many more. For the users who are still conservative in using Acrobat Distiller – the adequate option is available.

Preflight

Preflight module offers over 100 options for verification of PDF files. It inspects global parameters (such as font inclusion or color space usage), as well as local parameters (such as minimal text size, image resolution etc.). The range of checked features covers most of preflight options met in other relevant industry standard preflighting software.

PDF/X Maker

PDF/XMaker transforms PDF jobs into PDF/X compliant documents. The module adds PDF/X specific information to the input document and tries to apply all needed corrections. If the PDF document cannot be converted to PDF/X standard, PDF/XMaker generates detailed error report.

Toolbox

Toolbox optimizes incoming PDF files. It performs standard optimization actions such as hair-line correction, automatic black overprint, automatic white overprint removal, smoothness and flatness correction. In addition, the module utilizes idiom recognition technique and recognizes shadings, generated as a series of lines or frames, and converts them into PDF smooth shading objects. Similarly, the module can recognize images created as a series of single-row images and merge them back into single image.
