High-end Tools

One of the strong points of the system is a module for automatic generation of traps, which may be used without the necessity of ripping the file. The module can make various types of traps such as object-to-object, object-to-image or image-to-image traps, with the ability to handle the individually defined trapping zones. Trapper is able to serve up to twelve spot colors and to select a proper trap-making strategy depending on the color as well as on the degree of the color transparency. The more advanced options enable you to adjust parameters such as rich black, sliding-traps, and various styles of mitering. The module can easily manage complicated shadings, non-standard fonts (also East Asian ones) and transparencies.

Trapper

Trapper is a native PDF vector trapping module creating traps between vector objects, images and shadings. The module supports multiple trapping zones, with distinct trapping styles. It generates sliding traps and provides sophisticated trap mitering and trap line width reduction for thin objects. It utilizes an idiom recognition for complex shadings and images. The trapping content can be generated as trap-net, annotation or optional page stream content. The module recognizes trapping information from a job ticket accompanying the processed job.

TransparencyFlattener

The module converts transparent objects into a composite set of new objects and partially renders the file. Removal of the transparency allows maintaining file standard compatibility as well as ensuring correct file reproduction on various systems.

Screening

The Screening module inserts or removes halftone information from PDF files. Different objects, such as text, images, and vector graphics, can be tagged with different halftone data. The module can handle both AM and FM screenings in one job. The transfer functions can also be added to screening data for a linear halftone reproduction.

InkExaminer

The InkExaminer module generates CIP3 ink coverage profile for press machines directly from PDF files. It utilizes Adobe Acrobat or the RIP module if present.
